Support the Online Marketing Designer administratively as well as with project work as assigned.

Main duties/job description for an online marketing assistant:


-Be responsible for maintenance of title data (bibliographic and descriptive) in our Content Management Tool. Update monthly title information and cleaning up the backlist in the database.
-Prepare title descriptions (basic HTML) for e.tailers and dk.com. This occurs mainly twice a year, but updating errors throughout the publishing season will occur.
-Preparing jackets for upload. Replacing outdated/incorrect jackets in the feed to e.tailers and dk.com. Coordinating with the marketing art department.
-Design and dissemination of monthly dk.com e.newsletters. The online marketing assistant may be called on to write content as well. Working closely with the marketing managers.
-Maintain book category pages and create original content specific to the subjects. Rotation of the titles will coincide with the monthly dk.com refresh.
-Assist the online marketing designer in the design and construction of third party banner ads, mini-sites, sweepstakes, etc. Production work will be a significant part of this duty.
-Assist in the monthly refresh of dk.com. This will entail collaboration with the online marketing designer as well as Penguin Online and DK Marketing. The online marketing assistant will be called on to assist in the creation and production of unique features and mini-sites.
-Managing email sent to dk.com.
-Creation of monthly status reports documenting our eCommerce sales, features, traffic, etc. to disseminate to sales and marketing staff

Preferred skills/experience:
DESIGN:

Proficiency in Photoshop and Image Ready
Working knowledge of Flash is a plus
Working knowledge of Illustrator is a plus

CODE:

Proficiency in Dreamweaver or GoLive
Understanding of HTML hand-coding
Very basic JavaScript is a plus

OTHER:
